City Life Camping

I really don't do the camping thing very well.
The kids wanted to go camping, so I did what I can do best...
I made them "tents" so they can go camping every night.
They just love them!

Another Baking Disaster

So once again I tried baking. This time, box Funfeti cake mix.

I followed the directions; I promise! As you can see the kids wouldn't even finish their own special baby cupcakes. Nicholas actually spit it out and said "this is gross!".
Sadly I agree and my hard baking effort will join the rest...in the trash.
No amount of icing can overcome the strange flavor of these cupcakes.

First family portrait

Nicholas brought home his first family portrait today. Bottom group of people, iIn order from left to right:
Katherine with her hair in a pony tail and bow, Nicholas with shaggy hair, Mom (me) with long hair, and Dad only with short on top.

I'm so proud!

Every trip is an adventure

The kids woke up today in a great and playful mood. It was quickly deemed "dress up day," and everything would be an adventure.

First task was to go grocery shopping...with a fairy and a dinosaur

Trying to Bake

So, I admit.  I cannot bake.  Cook, yes.  Bake, no.
The last 3 (yes 3) times I tried to bake cookies, it was a disaster.
The last time I even used ready to bake cookies.
This time I used a cookie mix, and the kids helped.
 The waiting game was rough!
I tried 2 different baking methods:
1. Non stick cookie sheet
2. Pizza stone that I have had for 10 yrs (well seasoned)
Pizza stone made amazing thick and yummy cookies;
the baking sheet cookies were thin and deflated.
The kids loved eating their yummy cookies!

Discovery Green

After the museum, we spent the rest of the afternoon at Discovery Green.
We started off lunch with dessert!

 then went to the playground...
 Love the monkey bars
and they learned how to roll down a hill
By the end of the day, they were exhausted!

Fire House Museum

What a fun day today!  We went to the Houston Fire House Museum.
Apparently, when Katherine needs help, she calls Nana and the Police.
The fireman's pole was one of their favorite things to do,
over and over and over

I think I might know where their next birthday party will be located!
