First Braxton Hicks

First Braxton Hicks - 7/27/09

I think I had my first Braxton Hicks contractions today! All of a sudden my entire belly got rock hard and for several seconds, then soft again. Strange! :)

Hiccups

Hiccups- 7/16/09

Monday July 13th one of the twins (I think the girl, due to location) had the hiccups and I felt it for the first time! It was crazy :) heheh

Boy/Girl Twins

Boy/Girl Twins - 6/26/09

Well, its official!!! Baby A is a boy and Baby B is a girl!!! Now we get to start picking out names :) and painting the nursery. Pictures will follow this weekend. YEAH

Nursery

Nursery - 7/6/09

Well, Nana, Papa, and David panted the nursery this weekend. It looks fantastic! I can't wait to start filling it with cribs . We painted it green (aloe) it is very pretty and goes really well with the navy blue curtains and raspberry red book shelf!

Baby B likes to Kick My Finger

Baby B likes to Kick My Finger - 6/18/09

I can feel Baby A most of the time but Baby B only when I lay down to sleep. Last night Baby B was moving around before I went to bed so I poked my finger into my belly (just a little) and it kicked my finger!! It scared me at first, but now I LOVE it and we "play" all the time!!! I hope David gets to feel this soon.

I can feel them!

I can feel them! - 6/10/09

I can finally feel my little ones! I have to really be paying attention and calm. This is usually right before I nap or turn in for the night. It really kind of tickles . I am sure that when they get stronger it wont be as cute anymore, but right now, I love feeling them!! Two more weeks to find out what they are!!!! June 26th is the exciting day!

What are they??

What are they?? - 5/28/09

Well I have a Dr apt tomorrow and we might find out what they are!!! I can't wait. We will keep everyone posted and I'm sure there will be lots of phone calls to let everyone know!!! AAAHHH

David has no clue what's coming!

David has no clue what's coming! - 5/21/09

So, David keeps laughing at me when I show up with another book. So far they have just been pregnancy books but I am sure they will soon change to "child raising" books. For being an engineer and as much research as he does for EVERYTHING I am so surprised that he really thinks it will be easy and just "come" to him. He has no idea! I know I have no idea and I have been reading about what to expect :) He will learn soon enough. Ah, silly silly boy...he thinks he learned all he needed to know about kids in his ONE college class, heheh.

Second Trimester

Second Trimester - 5/18/09

Finally it is here! The second trimester. I am still getting sick every once in a while but I blame that more on the prenatal vitamins and me trying to figure how to eat ALL THE TIME.

Well, It looks like we might be able to find out the sexes sooner than thought. Lets keep our fingers crossed (or legs uncrossed) for June 1st!!!! This week (14) is when the sex organs should start to be visible.

Thank you to all who have been so supportive during the past few months. It has been rough but so worth it!!!

Sick Sick Sick!

Sick Sick Sick! - 4/27/09

Ok, so I have been so sick the past 3 weeks, but have started to feel better during week 10. Here are some new pictures!!

Hungry!

Hungry! - 4/16/09

Well, It has been a great 24 hours. I haven't gotten sick and now I am starving . I woke up in the middle of the night expecting to feel sick and instead this strange feeling came over me. I was hungry, but not just a little hungry, hungry like I haven't eating in days. I was so tired (from all my lack of quality sleep) that all I had was Cheerios and water in reach. So with every handful of Cheerios I had a drink of water. Yes, it was pretty bad, but oh so good. Lets hope today is as good as yesterday!!

Mother of Twins Meeting

Mother of Twins Meeting - 4/9/09

So, my Aunt turned me to a fantastic organization, National Organization of Mothers of Twins. I found several Houston chapters and joined the Bellaire group. I went to my first monthly meeting yesterday and it was exactly what I needed. These ladies have done it/seen it/experienced it all and are extremely sweet and helpful. This is going to be an amazing time!!!

The Inevitable

The Inevitable - 4/8/09

Well, I concurred or at least looked my fear in its face today. Yep, I got sick at work I almost didn't make it. Note to self, blueberries take a while to digest, but it was definitely better than the red Popsicle I had this weekend. Things they don't tell you about morning sickness - chew your food REALLY well. All the anxiety and now I am exhausted. I think I might sneak off to the first aid room for a 30-40 min nap.

I am now trying all morning sickness "cures". So far, the one that seems to work the best is sour stuff. The only problem is that when the sourness is gone, the nausea comes back. I had about 7-10 pieces of sour gum in my mouth last night. :) and I was going through sour jelly beans too!

6 Week Pictures

6 Week Pictures - 4/4/09

Ok, so it took us a while to get the pictures up...it now makes it more official. ahhh

Yesterday was Bad

Yesterday was Bad - 4/3/09

Wow, Yesterday I could hardly get out of bed without being sick It was the most intense morning sickness I have had yet. Luckily, today I feel pretty good!!

My "New" Diet, Oh My!!!

My "New" Diet, Oh My!!! - 4/1/09

So, lets talk food, or maybe we shouldn't. I have a feeling (going on how bad last night went) that my "new" diet is not going to be sufficient for much longer. The past few weeks the only things that have been appetizing enough to eat :

Bread, cheese, fruit, nuts, milk (LOTS OF MILK), and cereal

This new "diet" my taste buds seem to be keen on is not working for my tummy :(. The thought of a piece of chicken sounds like someone is asking me to eat dirt!! I hope to find some compromise for my lack of protein..I get mostly "ill" in the evenings so my next goal is to try to get more protein during lunch. We shall see....

Dad, a Major Nester

Dad, a Major Nester - 4/1/09

So, David took everything out of the nursery closet and added 2 shelves below the hanging rod. Now we have extra storage for the little shoes and towels and much much more :) He has also bought more shelves for the garage for extra storage too (he's putting them up today)!!! He is so cute!!! :)

Two New Hejls

Two New Hejls!!! 3/31/09

And then there were two! So, David and I finally got in to the ultrasound room and we were joking around saying...what if there's 2...and then the nurse asked "Why, did you know you were having twins?" Oh no we didn't! Yep. There were 2, with strong visible heart beats. David is scanning in the pictures soon, so I can't wait to post the pictures of Baby A and Baby B!!

David and Car Seats

David and Car Seats - 3/27/09

So, I am sure you all know that David has a BMW Coupe. Well, its backseat is not the roomiest there is. He has found (hunting around the internet) a list of rear facing baby seats that fit his car! So now we have a list to start with.

Now if I can just get him to put his dishes in the dishwasher!

Dad to be is Nesting!

Dad to be is Nesting! 3/24/09

David has been on a room renovation rampage! No, I am not complaining just pleasantly surprised. I came home yesterday to find him steam cleaning the carpet and getting ready to paint the ceiling of the soon to be baby room. We have needed to do this many months ago due to hurricane damage, but I guess, better late then never. He took all the furniture out of the room and primed the new sheet rock. Today he just informed me that he painted the walls and the ceiling to match what was there to begin with and has arranged the furniture in a new way. I can't wait to see it! We now have our guest room back...YESSSSS!!!!
